How can you forgive a violent abusive parent (father)? WHY should you forgive? Dr Eugene Callender tells of his violent father beatings during childhood - and how he came to grips with this violence - and how he was able to let it go before his father died and make peace.

Dr Callender was a beloved minister in Harlem, NY. He served 5 US presidents as adviser. He was on the New York state parole board, and a Commissioner for the Aging. His church in New York City was a stronghold of love and support in his community. He marched with Martin Luther King in violent marches. Later he founded a program for Harlem street youth that had outstanding results. He starred in NBC's ground-breaking Positively Black.

Walking the Red Road

We cannot learn to be a truly forgiving human being unless we are treated with injustice and with hurtful actions we don’t deserve. The only one, who can teach the person with the whip what true love and forgiveness are about, is the person being whipped.

When we ask the Creator for strength, we will receive tests and difficulties to make us strong. When we ask for wisdom, the Creator will give us many problems to solve. When we ask for great courage, the Creator will give us heroic obstacles to overcome.

If it were not for tests, how would is the courageous distinguished from the cowardly? Without tests, how is the precious diamond distinguished from the worthless pebble?

We cannot be a good leader of warriors unless we have been in front of the fiercest battles and received the deepest wounds.

Do you think you can say you believe in the Creator and will not be tested? When the cry of truth is raised, so is the cry of denial.

You cannot guide another along a Path you have not travelled yourself. You will hurt all concerned.

We are only here for a short time and as my beloved father used to laugh and share, “None of us are going to get out of here alive, without dying first.”

A Special Equinox Message ~ Staying Grounded, Balanced and Centered During Changing Times

As we go through these shifting times, it is more and more important that we stay centered and grounded in our own inner light.

MANY changes will come about externally - outside of ourselves.

ALL the masters and messengers of angels and beings of light remind us over and over again to breathe in the golden light particles and calm ourselves, and keep our focus on the presence of the divine spark of unconditional love we all carry deep within ourselves.

As we fan this spark with our intention - and also with our prayers for help to do this - we gain strength iota by iota to stand more and more in this strong place of love and light.  

This place of light connects us center to center with the divine presence all around us and within us.

As spiritual travelers, we can use everything outside ourselves to show us where we still have to practice bringing in and holding more of the Creator's unconditional love.

From this stance, we can develop the spiritual practice of gratitude for everything as being an instrument by which we can measure our progress in holding and eventually living in light and love.

Remember, divine help is simply a prayer away.  Be just calling out to our angel friends of forgiveness, our guardian and protector angels, and other angels and beings of light we love or are drawn to, as well as the Creator source itself, we can receive unlimited assistance to develop our own spiritual heart "muscle" of loving abundance for ourselves ~ and in time ~ for those around us.

Begin with baby steps, and acknowledge yourself for each little increment of experience in which you are able to hold onto the divine truth that all is created in divine unconditional love.

I hold you in the Creator's Light as you move and grow through these experiences during these challenging as well as fascinating times.
